most of the questions which fit the above rules will be accepted. Questions or answers are not reviewed before being posted to the site, but if a moderator or admin notices a question or answer that doesnt comply with the rules, it will be deleted and you'll have to edit it before its allowed to be reposted.
your answers do not have to be true or based on facts. the site is mainly for entertainment. please keep in mind that the question usually also has a hidden "why" in it, in other words, try to elaborate your answers. IF we spot answers like : yes, no, I agree etc, they'll probably be deleted. In survey questions, just answering with one of the options(answers) is also a faulty answer. We'll expect you to elaborate.
Eg. Q:Coke or Pepsi ? A: Pepsi - because they have cool ads. is correct. If you had left it at "pepsi", its more work for the moderators. And we like coke more (because the bottle is red).
asweknow.com is not a forum. So when you answer please consider the topic question and not the previous answers. if you want to comment on a previous answer, please make sure you first answer the topic question.
Users answering the question should not refer to each others answers. If something is already answered please make sure your answer adds value, and doesnt merely repeat the previous answers.
Please dont "talk" to other users in the form of an answer. Use the messaging window if you really want to tell them something. If you want to befriend them, use ICQ. Just kidding, use MSN messenger.

the questions cannot be longer than 100 characters. If your question has to have more details, use the "details" box which appears when you are asking a new question.
you can ask a question and answer it yourself. its fine by us. we don't know why you'd want to do such a thing, maybe to say "I know about this stuff", or it might be your way of expressing yourself. We don't know, you might want to see a psychiatrist if you don't either. |

If you want to link to another question within asweknow, just type "ask:" and then the question and make sure its in paranthesis.
Example : (ask: who is john lennon). make sure there's a space after "ask:". otherwise it wont work.
if you want the users to search for a question you can use the "sea" prefix, eg. (sea: asweknow).
if you want to ask a "secret question" you need to type your question in the paranthesis that appears when you hit Alt Gr + 7 and Alt Gr 0 (zero). you know, the paranthesis with the spike
you can also link to a question using a different text. for example the link might just show "michael jackson", but the link will take the user to "who the fuck is alice". to do this, similar to the secret question, you do the spiked paranthesis but you put a column (:) between the text that will appear and the actual link it points to.
for example -imagine the paranthesis are the spiked ones- :
(michael jackson:who the fuck is alice). Make sure there is no space before and after the ":" sign. This will be shown like this: michael jackson. |

| upper case letters. we really dont like them. if you use upper case letters when posting a new question, it will appear in lowercase. you can use uppercase letters when answering questions. BUT ANSWERS WITH UNNECESSARY UPPER CASE LETTERS WILL BE DELETED BY THE MODERATORS. Similarly hå¢kêr †êx† will not be tolerated either. |

If you'd like to refer to a specific answer in another question topic, you can link to it by using the "ans" prefix and the answer number. Yes each answer has a specific number assigned to them. Such as : (ans: 10) and it will take you to the answer # 10. These numbers are unique. Deleted answers' numbers will not be assigned to new answers.

If your questions or answers are deleted, its probably because of one of the following :
1- The site is owned and operated by Turkish citizens in Turkey. So we are bound by Turkish laws. If an entry is deleted for the reason its illegal it probably means its illegal in Turkey. Generally, whats illegal in other countries, is illegal in Turkey, so no illegal porn, drug use, copyright violations (no sharing of torrent links etc) or criminal talk is allowed. The Turkish constitution also has laws against disrespect for the Turkish Flag, Currency and the founder of state M. Kemal Ataturk.
Sadly, shutting down website access (like youtube) because there are anti- Turkish content (even if the content provider isnt the site, but the users) is common practice in Turkey. So please understand when we cannot allow or ignore hate content for the Turkish state, Ataturk etc. Please bear in mind that we can spot the difference between criticism and hate. Criticism is ok, hate is not.
2-Abuse of upper case letters.
3-Occasional swearing is ok. When we feel its crossing the line, it will be deleted.
4-Offensive content will be deleted. Try not to offend anyone. At least not obviously.
5-Please try to use proper English. Good grammar and spelling makes your answers easier to read and understand. If your English isnt that good, try to express yourself in simple sentences. Any unintelligable answers will be deleted.
6-Please answer the questions. Any answers that doesnt contain an answer to the original question will be deleted.
7-If the answer is directly referring to one of the answers above it.
8-Answer consists of very short answers like "yes" or "no" that doesnt add any value to the answer.
9-If the answer is way below the quality standards of the site. In other words, if it sucks big time.
10-If the user has mistaken the site for a forum or IRC channel and posts answers suggesting this.
11-If the answer is irrelevant comments like : "yeah, I always wondered that!" or "doesnt anyone know why this is so?" etc. |

When the moderators delete a post, it goes back to your trash bin. You either can delete it for good (read: if you're lazy) or edit it and make it better and re-post it. Please note that it is not possible to re-post a deleted answer without editing it first. The new post is still subject to standard moderation.
If a user gets 10 of his answers/questions deleted for the reasons above, his status is downgraded to "rookie", meaning they can still post, but their posts wont be visible before moderators review and approve them. Once the moderators are convinced the lesson is learned, his status is back to reguler user. If the user is so thick that he keeps on making the same mistakes, his account gets deleted. The catch his, all his previous answers will get deleted - although the questions remain. The questions appear to be posted by the "notauseranymore" user. |
